Welcome!
Madison Festivals, Inc. (MFI), a recognized 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to producing events that are the best of Madison - Madison Marathon, Brat Fest, Taste of Madison and Kids Expo.
Taste of Madison is the flagship event of Madison Festivals, Inc. The event is held each year on Saturday and Sunday over the Labor Day weekend on the Capitol Square. Taste of Madison has repeatedly been the recipient of Madison Magazine's "Best Community Festival/Event" readers' award. With an estimated attendance of 175,000, the event showcases more than 60 local restaurants, 21 beverage stands, 4 entertainment stages and more than 40 bands.
The Madison Marathon is a two-day event held each Memorial Day weekend. A Health & Fitness Expo is held on Saturday where participants are able to register for the event or, if pre-registered, receive race materials, goody bags, and learn more about the marathon course. The Health & Fitness Expo also provides an opportunity for visitors to enjoy free samples, displays, and interactive demos hosted by various health and fitness exhibitors. On Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend over 6,000 runners participate in one of the 4 races that comprise the Madison Marathon event. These participants take to the streets of Madison and surrounding communities by running a marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon or the Kids' Run. The Madison Marathon Finish Line Festival is combined with the activities of The World’s Largest Brat Fest.
Brat Fest is a Madison-area tradition. Now in its 27th year, the event is celebrated at Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center. Over the course of the four-day Memorial Day weekend approximately 100,000 people join in the celebration and help support roughly 70 local organizations and charities by purchasing more than 181,000 brat and 36,000 hotdogs. With the relocation to Willow Island in 2005, the festival was able to expand to include many activities for kids and families, such as bouncy tents, kayaking, and rock wall climbing. With the addition of two entertainment stages that showcase professional and community performers these new features have enticed visitors to spend hours eating, drinking, and enjoying the festivities.
Madison Festivals, Inc. recently purchased Kids Expo from Wisconsin State Journal and is revamping the event. Keep checking back for details.
