Taste of Madison
Held since 1983, the Taste is Madison Festivals flagship event. Madison's end-of-summer picnic with 85 restaurants, 3 entertainment stages and 26 beverage stands draws over 250,000 to the Capitol Square over Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. There is no charge for admission or entertainment. Taste of Madison has raised over one million dollars since 1995 for local non-profit and charitable organizations. 45 groups now earn over $62,000 annually.
The Madison Marathon and Half Marathon is held over Veterans Day weekend in early November. All races begin and finish on Capitol Square. An expo is held on the Friday and Saturday prior to Sunday's race day. The Madison Marathon benefits 45 local charities and non-profits annually, raising $122,350 the past five years.
Run Madtown is held over Memorial Day Weekend (Twilight 5K, Twilight 10K, Kids Race and Madtown Half Marathon). Races begin and finish on the Capitol Square. An expo is held on the Friday and Saturday prior to Saturday evening and Sunday's races. Run Madtown benefits 40 local charities, raising $183,000 the past 10 years.
