Madison Festivals, Inc. incorporated on April 5, 1993, was formed by the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) for the creation and operation of events for the greater Madison area. The corporation was formed exclusively to organize and manage charitable events for the education, participation, and entertainment of the public in the area of Madison, Wisconsin.
Madison Festivals owns and operates the Taste of Madison, Madison Marathon, and Run Madtown. The group also owns the rights to Kites on Ice, Rhythm and Booms and the Madison Holiday Parade. We also managed Brat Fest (2005-2009) and Kids Expo (2008 & 2009).
Madison Festivals has a charity partner for each event and pays volunteers to work on behalf of over 65 local nonprofits, schools and charities.
Madison Festivals contracts with Madison-based event management company, Race Day Events, to produce its events. Income is derived from sponsorships, beverage sales, vendor fees (e.g.: restaurants at Taste; booths at Run Madtown and Madison Marathon Expo) and runner registrations.
